According to RGZ, the market's value reached 4.2 billion euros — 10.1% more than in the first half of 2025. The number of contracts reached 61,343, an increase of 0.2%. In the apartment segment, monetary value rose by 11.4%, while the number of contracts fell by 1.9%. Belgrade accounted for 55% of the value of apartments sold nationwide. These figures concern completed transactions. They describe the market over a period that has already ended and help show the scale of activity. They cannot, however, predict the precise future price of a particular address or promise a buyer a certain return.

Our interpretation: monetary value depends on the number of transactions, property sizes, their characteristics and prices together. If more expensive properties are sold in one period, the overall figure can rise without prices changing equally across all areas.

The statement “the market grew by 10.1%, so this apartment has also risen by 10.1%” is therefore incorrect. You need comparable listings and transactions: a similar location, floor area, building condition, number of storeys, lift, parking and clear documentation. A renovated apartment and one requiring further investment produce different total budgets even at the same price per square metre.

1. Define the purpose of the purchase. A permanent home, relocating a family and an investment purchase require different criteria. For a family, the journey to school may matter more than a nominally lower price in another area.
2. Compare like with like. Make a shortlist of comparable properties and note differences separately. Do not combine finished new builds, older properties and projects at an early construction stage into one average price.
3. Separate the advertised price from the transaction terms. Clarify whether parking, furniture and equipment are included, how the payment schedule works and what is actually handed over to the buyer.
4. Calculate the full budget. Besides the property price, allow for transaction costs, mandatory payments applicable to the deal, translations, bank transactions and any necessary work after purchase.
5. Agree on a budget limit before negotiations. This lets you assess counteroffers calmly, without making decisions under pressure from urgency.

Market appeal and a property's legal readiness are different questions. An attractive price does not explain why the floor area differs in the documents, who may sign the contract or what entries appear in the cadastre. First gather the basic information and establish exactly what is being sold.

RGZ provides the public eKatastar service for searching cadastral information. It is a useful starting point; a purchase decision requires assessing that information alongside the documents for the specific transaction. eKatastar public service.

If buying a house and land, do not limit your review to photographs of the building. Ask a specialist to reconcile the contract description with cadastral records and the actual property. For an apartment, clarify in advance whether it is recorded as a separate unit, which premises are included and the handover terms.

For someone also arranging residence in Serbia, an apartment is part of a wider plan. Before paying an advance, coordinate the transaction, bank settlement, the family's arrival and document procedures. An otherwise convenient property may have an unsuitable handover date, while rushing can create costs for temporary rent and repeat trips.

We recommend drawing up a schedule showing dependencies: which documents are needed before the contract, which steps can happen after payment and when the keys will actually be handed over. The amendments were published on 31 August 2026 in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, No. 80/2026. The current law provides for the general mandatory stage of receiving electronic delivery notes in the private sector and exchanging them between private entities from 1 October 2027. Through 1 January 2027 inclusive, a special regime applies to the treatment of errors in data in documents already sent during inspections. This is not the same as cancelling the obligation to send documents. The basis is the official publication of the law with amendments.

The first mandatory scenarios took effect on 1 January 2026: the public sector, relevant supplies to it and transactions involving excise goods. The launch is described in the Ministry of Finance announcement. Relying only on the 2027 date is therefore risky: your transaction may already require an electronic document.

Our approach is to map the movement of goods first, then choose a technical solution. List three to five regular scenarios: delivery to a customer, transfers between warehouses, returns, imports and dispatch to a public-sector customer. These examples do not necessarily all fall under the same requirements. Check the actual transaction, the parties' status and the goods.

For each situation, answer simple questions: who controls the goods, who transports them, where are they dispatched from, who receives them and which documents are already prepared? This review reveals any part of the process that has not yet been defined. Buying software alone does not remove that uncertainty.

An accountant may record transactions correctly without knowing the precise dispatch time or the actual items received. That information sits with the warehouse, logistics staff and recipient. We recommend assigning responsibility for providing the initial data, preparing the document and checking that the transaction is complete.

It is particularly useful to agree on what happens when there are discrepancies: some goods are not accepted, the vehicle changes, delivery is delayed or a return is needed. These are practical scenarios for an internal procedure. It is better to review them with a specialist in advance than to improvise after dispatch.

The official portal states that registration requires the legal representative to have eID and a qualified certificate or ConsentID. User permissions are assigned after registration. Rights in the SEF administration module and the delivery note system are granted separately. For a foreign representative, check that their details match across the registers and electronic identification tools. The procedure is described in the eOtpremnica FAQ.

The practical implication is to check not just that the director can log in, but that the employees who will actually handle deliveries can work in the system. Access to electronic invoices should not be treated as automatic confirmation of full readiness for delivery notes.

• The company's and legal representative's registration details have been checked.
• Employees' permissions have been granted and tested, with cover arrangements in place.
• A procedure has been agreed for returns, quantity discrepancies and technical problems.
• The accountant, warehouse and manager know where to see the current status.

We recommend testing this list against one typical order from start to finish. A small company needs a clear process and assigned responsibilities. With large dispatch volumes, integration with the existing accounting system and the workload on employees should be assessed separately. The review should produce a short list of specific fixes with named responsibilities.

There is no need to stop preparing because the general date is later, or to restructure the whole business around someone else's template. Start by checking which requirements apply. Then separate the current mandatory steps from preparation for the next stage and allocate the budget between the two.

In the current guidance, updated on 15 July 2026, the US Department of State says that nonimmigrant visa applicants should schedule appointments in their country of nationality or residence. If the choice of country is based on residence, that residence must be demonstrated. Designated consulates are provided for nationals of countries without routine visa services; an applicant's residence in another country is considered separately. Current State Department guidance.

The official guidance also warns of difficulties and longer waits when applying outside the country of nationality, residence or the designated application location. Fees paid for those applications are non-refundable and non-transferable. This is another reason to check the procedure first and pay only afterwards.

In practice, this makes residence history an important part of preparation. We recommend assessing the file as a whole: valid status in Serbia, your actual place of residence, employment or business, family circumstances and the reason for the US trip. Preparation should not turn into collecting every conceivable document — the aim is a consistent, understandable picture.

Distinguish two questions. First, is Belgrade an appropriate place to apply? Second, does the application itself fit the chosen visa category? A positive answer to the first does not replace an assessment of the travel purpose, funding and other circumstances.

Before paying, check which documents you can already use to establish residence. The residence card, decision, registration details and other material are not always available to an applicant at the same time. Establish what you have now, what is being processed and which evidence the particular consulate accepts.

Do not invent a “mandatory six months of residence” or another universal period if it is not stated in the applicable requirements. Equally, a promise that “a few days in the country is enough” cannot be applied to every situation. The current procedure must be checked against your status.

If your circumstances combine a Russian passport, work in Serbia and income from another country, prepare an explanation of that arrangement in advance. Documents should clarify the situation, not create further confusion between the form, statements and spoken answers.

1. Identify the category and purpose. Visiting friends or relatives, a business meeting, study and employment are different purposes.
2. Check the place of application. Confirm the current procedure for your nationality and residence, including the Belgrade embassy's instructions.
3. Gather proof of residence. Identify the necessary documents and check their validity and legibility.
4. Make the form consistent with the facts. Employment, addresses, travel, family details and funding should form a consistent picture.
5. Plan the costs. Allow for fees, translations, logistics and extra time; do not treat published appointment availability as a guarantee of when the visa will be ready.

Do not automatically cancel an appointment after reading the news. First open the official message in your account and check the rules for your specific application location. General advice in a chat may concern a different country, visa category or booking date.

Prepare copies of the appointment and payment confirmations, the current application form and correspondence with the consulate. If clarification is needed, ask a specific question stating your nationality, country of lawful residence, visa type and appointment status. This is more useful than a general “Can I apply?” without the background facts.

Also keep the original answers and versions of the form. If preparation has taken time and your work, address or family circumstances have changed, check whether information needs updating before the interview. Consistency starts with current facts, not a memorised account.

UKVI's updated guidance states that from 1 July 2026, new applicants no longer receive visa stickers after approval. Instead, they receive an eVisa — an electronic record of identity, status and conditions of stay. Before travelling, you must sign in to your UKVI account, view your eVisa and check your permission. UKVI guidance of 1 July 2026.

A digital outcome does not mean the entire process takes place without personal attendance. The authorities may still require biometrics. If an applicant is issued a special Form for Accompanying an eVisa, they must follow the instructions for collecting it: this document is used alongside the electronic visa.

Keep the approval email, but complete your travel preparation by checking the record itself. Make sure you can sign in to your account while travelling, not just from your home computer: you must retain access to the phone and email address.

In practice, the problem is often not the visa decision but mismatched details: a ticket is booked with a new passport while the account is linked to the old one; the name is spelled differently in the form; or email access remains with the person who helped with the application. Our advice is to identify these issues several days before travelling, not at the check-in desk.

The official instructions require you to check personal details, the current passport or travel document and the accuracy of immigration status. The details must match the information given to the carrier. Travel with a valid document that has been added to the account. A mismatch may cause boarding difficulties or delays at the border. For additional proof of status, you can generate a share code; a travel code is valid for 90 days. If you have received a new passport, check the update procedure in advance. Do not assume that replacing a document automatically updates every system.

You need a UKVI account to access an eVisa. If you already have one, do not create a second. The official guidance specifically says that partners and children joining as dependants need their own accounts to access their eVisas. A working phone number and email address are important for creating and using an account. Creating and accessing a UKVI account.

Before travelling, we recommend making a family checklist: whose status has been checked, which passport is linked, where the application number is stored and who manages a child's account. Do not check only the main applicant. A shared itinerary does not replace an individual document check for every passenger.

According to the UK authorities, an ETA is intended for people who do not need a visa for the relevant short visit. An eVisa records granted immigration status. The choice depends on nationality, purpose and individual circumstances; Serbian residence alone does not turn a visa application into an ETA.

Starting with “How do I get an electronic document?” is therefore not enough. First establish which permission you need. Tourism, study and employment have different procedures and supporting documents, even when the resulting status is displayed digitally.

1. Open the decision email and follow the instructions relevant to your application.
2. Sign in to UKVI, check the status and passport, then compare the details with the ticket.
3. Check access to your phone and email while travelling; save application numbers and official support contacts.
4. Check documents separately for every passenger, including return to Serbia and transit.
5. If you find an error, resolve it before travel through the official data-correction procedure.

According to the National Bank of Serbia, banks began processing SEPA Credit Transfer transactions on 4–5 May 2026. Both servicing banks must participate in SCT for a transfer to be made. The standard timeframe is one working day after the bank receives a correct payment instruction; the cut-off time affects when that period begins. The specific bank sets the fee. Serbian foreign-exchange rules and document requirements continue to apply. Details are published in the official NBS answers.

This is not a promise that every international payment is now free or instant. SCT and the instant SCT Inst scheme are different products. Ask your bank whether the required channel is available for the particular account and transaction.

Our planning conclusion is that it is sensible to review established payment arrangements now, especially if the company regularly makes similar euro payments. The comparison should be based on your actual transaction flow. A banking package suitable for one large monthly payment may be less appropriate for dozens of small receipts.

Take a statement for a typical month and group the transactions: services, goods, receipts from clients and refunds. Note the number and average amount for each group. This list makes it easier to request a specific calculation from the bank and compare it with current costs than asking a general question such as “Is your SEPA cheap?”

1. Will this particular payment go through SCT? Provide the currency, country, recipient bank and nature of the transaction.
2. What fee applies under our tariff? Ask the bank to distinguish sending, receiving and account maintenance.
3. When must the instruction be sent? Clarify the cut-off time and processing on weekends and public holidays.
4. Which documents should be attached? Agree on a clear document set for your transaction before an urgent payment arises.
5. What will the counterparty receive? Find out where to obtain confirmation and how to track the status or a return.

Keep the answers in a short working procedure for the director and accountant. This is especially useful when one person prepares payments and another signs them. Everyone should share the same understanding of when a transaction is ready to send.

We recommend maintaining a counterparty record with its full name, address, bank details and a contact for verifying changes. Compare new details with the contract and confirm them through a known communication channel. This check is also necessary for a long-standing partner if an unexpected email announces a different account.

For accounting purposes, connect the payment to the underlying business transaction in advance. The counterparty's name, amount, currency and description in the documents should form a clear account. If paying an advance, settling several documents or making a refund, prepare the explanation before sending. This is our organisational recommendation; the specific document requirements are determined for the transaction itself.

Consider a DOO that pays monthly for a European software service and receives money from two corporate clients. It is useful to check the outgoing payment and incoming receipts separately. Do not automatically apply the terms for one direction to the other. Create two budget lines and compare the actual charges after the first billing period.

Do not change the bank, payment details in every contract and accounting procedures all at once because of a single news item. First assess the available terms and the operational costs of switching. In some situations, correctly configuring the existing account and payment templates is enough. After checking, document the chosen payment procedure and communicate it to employees who prepare and approve the company's payments.

The European Commission confirms that the phased rollout of the Entry/Exit System began on 12 October 2025 and that the system has been fully operational since 10 April 2026. EES records short-stay travel by non-EU nationals across the external borders of 29 participating European countries. Records include passport details, the place and date of the border crossing and biometric information; the system also records refusals of entry. European Commission information.

For travellers covered by the system, electronic records replace ordinary passport stamps. One result is more systematic checking of the permitted length of stay. Planning a trip “roughly from the passport stamps” is therefore even less practical now.

The practical conclusion is to check the passport, the right to enter the destination country and border-registration rules separately when preparing a trip. Serbian residence confirms your status in Serbia; the arrival of a new electronic system does not turn it into a Schengen visa.

Do not confuse EES with the ETIAS electronic travel authorisation either. They are different tools. The EES launch does not mean that you must buy a new “EES permit” from a third-party website before every trip. Follow the current official requirements of the destination country and the EU for your circumstances.

Start with the first external border crossing: routes by car, bus and plane may pass through different countries. Understand exactly where you first enter the territory applying the relevant procedure and where you leave it.

Compile your previous travel history. It is useful to keep tickets, bookings and actual entry and exit dates in one calendar. With frequent travel, it is easy to confuse a return date with a flight departure date or overlook a short business trip. Check the length of stay under the applicable rules, not just the visa's validity period.

Then check the validity of the passport, visa and documents for returning to Serbia. If your Serbian status is expiring soon or renewal is already underway, resolve this before buying a complicated itinerary. Assess connections and transit-country requirements separately.

We recommend a separate row for each family member: nationality, passport, entry document, validity and previous trips. A shared surname and booking do not mean that everyone's requirements are identical.

Allow extra organisational time for the first encounter with the new procedure. Do not build an itinerary with the smallest possible gap between a bus, a border crossing and the next flight. Speed depends on the crossing point, passenger numbers and the particular situation; there is no universal promise of “five minutes per person”.

Check children's documents, proof of relationships and travel consents against the route requirements and who is accompanying them. This is especially useful when a child travels with one parent or a relative: a file prepared in advance reduces questions at the least convenient moment.

A passport change is a good reason to check the whole set of documents, not just book a ticket using the new number. A valid visa may remain in the old document, while booking services may retain earlier details. Prepare a clear connection between the documents and confirm the rules for using them together with the competent authority or carrier.

If you find a discrepancy in travel history or receive a question from the border authorities, keep the related tickets and confirmations. Do not try to resolve the situation through a random repeat submission or a new form: first establish precisely which data needs to be confirmed.

For frequent business travel, it is convenient to maintain this calendar continuously rather than reconstruct it before each holiday. This small organisational habit helps identify conflicts between family plans, business trips and documents in time.

The exchange of electronic confirmations and sick leave certificates began on 1 January 2026. The next stage, starting on 31 March, includes electronic applications for compensation calculations, reimbursement and objections. For sole traders who employ staff, mandatory use is scheduled to begin on 1 January 2027. These dates appear in eUprava’s launch announcement.

In September 2026, therefore, it is no longer appropriate to give every company the same advice to ‘prepare for the launch’. For a DOO, the issue is already part of day-to-day operations. For a sole trader with employees, it is about preparing for their own mandatory start date.

The employer registers on eUprava and sets up access for authorised users. Users can log in using a qualified electronic certificate or ConsentID. The system allows them to receive documents, view sick leave status and handle the relevant applications. An employee’s diagnosis is not automatically disclosed to the employer: the official service describes a specific procedure for displaying it. Details are available on the eBolovanje service page.

The practical point is that portal access and an organised employment administration process are two separate tasks. A director’s successful login does not mean the accountant already receives the information needed for payroll.

We recommend describing the process on a single page. Who checks for new events, who contacts the employee if information differs, who passes the information on for payroll, and who checks that an application is completed? Each task needs a named person responsible and a clear substitute during holidays.

If accounting is outsourced, agree separately which actions are covered by the support contract. The parties may understand ‘bookkeeping’ differently. A list of specific tasks and outcomes is more useful to an owner than a promise that the contractor ‘takes care of everything’.

• The organisation’s account. Is it clear who manages it and who can grant access?
• Users’ working permissions. Can the responsible person carry out the required action, rather than just open the page?
• Communication with the accountant. How are periods of absence recorded and payroll information passed on?
• Tracking applications. Where are the reference number and status of each submitted application stored?
• Cover arrangements. Who will continue the work if the director or HR administrator is unavailable?

This is a management checklist for setting up the process. It helps to work through one routine scenario and one unusual case, such as an absence that spans the end of a month. This check can reveal gaps between the portal, the internal spreadsheet and payroll calculations.

Provide a short, clear instruction in the team’s working language: whom to notify when an absence begins, whom to contact if information is incorrect, and which actions remain the employee’s responsibility. The company’s general correspondence should not become an archive of medical documents. To organise work, the manager primarily needs accurate absence dates and a clear communication process.

Serbian terminology can be an additional challenge for a Russian-speaking owner. It helps to compile a small internal glossary of the terms actually used and link them to actions. An accountant’s status update will then indicate a clear next step, rather than introduce another unfamiliar term.

Start preparation by checking access and the contract with your accountant. Then appoint a responsible person, describe the workflow and establish how it will apply to your staff. We recommend addressing these organisational matters before the first employee falls ill after the mandatory deadline.

Do not copy another business’s process without checking its legal form. A sole trader without employees and a DOO with staff have different starting points. Review the process again if the company’s structure changes or it hires its first employee.

RGZ announced that contracts certified before 1 September 2014 and other documents originating before 8 June 2018 can be submitted for review. There is no separate final deadline for submitting old documents. Review is available through a dedicated application using eUprava identification, and a lawyer is not mandatory for this electronic stage. RGZ’s explanation of 5 January 2026.

However, the age of the document is only a starting point. Different defects have their own conditions and dates. For example, it should not be assumed that every contract predating 2014 is automatically accepted without the seller’s consent to registration. First, identify the type of document and why it was not acted upon.

The official guide lists, among other things, old contracts without separate consent to registration, discrepancies in floor area or property identification, certain old decisions without a mark confirming they have entered into force, and differences in personal details. Some cases require a court expert, a notary or a surveying organisation. This may be necessary, for example, to establish that an old property description corresponds to the current cadastral data. Our practical conclusion: the value of the procedure lies in the chance to resolve years of uncertainty. But the starting point should be diagnosing the problem, rather than uploading a random set of files. One owner may only need to assemble the chain of contracts; another may first need to clarify the property’s identity.

1. Assemble the history of ownership rights. Retrieve the available contracts, appendices, decisions and information on inheritance or subsequent transfers of rights.
2. Identify the previous obstacle. If there was a refusal or a request from the cadastre, use it as the starting point for the review.
3. Match the documents to the property as it exists today. Addresses and reference numbers may have changed; the match must be supported by documents, not assumptions.
4. Prepare legible files. Check every page, reverse side, stamp, appendix and signature.
5. Submit the documents for review and track the response. Choose the next steps based on RGZ’s assessment.

This sequence helps avoid paying for unnecessary work. If the problem concerns identifying the property, translating another copy of a contract will not solve it by itself. If part of a document is missing, finding a complete version or an archive copy is a more useful first step.

If the electronic materials receive a positive assessment, RGZ sends instructions for providing originals or certified copies. The guide gives an indicative registration period of five working days after they are delivered. This cannot be applied to the entire process from the first upload: preliminary review and preparation of missing materials come beforehand. The simplified registration method described also provides for a note that the entry may be reviewed within one year if a document is submitted that disproves the basis for it. RGZ has already reported the first positive result, dated 15 January 2026. In the same publication, the authority stresses the importance of a complete set of scanned or photographed documents: these are what it uses to assess whether registration is possible. RGZ specifically explains that targeted validation does not replace the Svoj na svome programme. These are different mechanisms that may complement each other where appropriate. Finding a programme name online does not, by itself, determine the route for a particular case. Establish what needs to be resolved: a formal defect in an old document, the status of the property, or several issues at once.

If a seller promises to register a property ‘under the new procedure’, ask for the procedure’s name, the basis for the application and its current stage. Until the review is complete, do not treat an expected outcome as a condition already fulfilled. Agree with a lawyer what evidence is needed before payment and what happens if registration is delayed. This is particularly useful where there is a complex chain of previous owners.

The programme is based on the Law on Special Conditions for Recording and Registering Rights to Real Estate, published on 23 October 2025. Applications are reviewed by the Agency for Spatial Planning and Urbanism, while registration actions involve the cadastre. The official portal stresses that the procedure addresses ownership; it should not be seen as a universal confirmation of all the building’s technical characteristics. As of the preparation date of this article, 17 September 2026, the ordinary application period has already ended: it expired on 8 February 2026. For people who missed it for objective reasons, the official portal states that an application may be made until 24 October 2026. This is a special opportunity for particular circumstances, not a general extension open to everyone. The reason for missing the deadline and the evidence required should be assessed before applying. If an application was submitted on time, the priority now is to track its progress and requests for documents. Do not submit a new application merely because no response has arrived: first find the existing case number and establish its status.

Our practical conclusion: when buying, distinguish four stages: documents are still being collected; the application has been accepted; the right has been recognised under the procedure; and the result has been entered in the cadastre. Property listings sometimes describe all these stages with the same phrase, although they differ significantly for planning a transaction.

Ask the seller for proof of submission and current cadastral information. Compare the address, plot number, apartment or other separate unit number, floor area and rights holder’s details. Establish separately which documents are still being requested. An attractive renovation, paid utility bills and many years of occupation do not, by themselves, answer these questions.

Take particular care when the documents describe an entire building, but the property being sold is a particular apartment, extension or separate floor. The review must establish exactly what you are buying and which document confirms the seller’s right to it.

The official table sets different amounts according to the property and location. For family houses and apartments in Belgrade, the stated range is EUR 100 to EUR 1,000; other places have different ranges. The widely used phrase ‘registration for EUR 100’ therefore cannot be treated as a universal price. Amounts are paid in dinar equivalent; the payment notice arrives after the relevant review stage, and the fee does not need to be paid in advance. Official payment table.

For personal budgeting, separate the government payment, preparation of missing documents and professional support. These are different cost categories. Ask the service provider to explain what their price includes and which actions would be needed only if a particular problem is identified.

• The address and any available cadastral identifiers for the property.
• The document on the basis of which the property was acquired.
• Confirmation of a previously submitted application and the case number, if available.
• Notices and requests received, and any responses to them.
• A brief description of the goal: register your own property, sell it or buy it safely.

This is a working list for an initial review, not a single mandatory package for every applicant. If some documents are missing, first establish where and how to obtain them. Do not commission repeat translations or technical materials before checking what is already in the case file.

In August 2026, the Agency separately announced support for applicants supplementing their documentation. In practical terms, the stage after submission requires attention: read the request in full, link it to the case number and prepare a substantive response. The new procedure has applied since 1 October 2025. Existing organisations were required to bring their information into compliance by 1 December 2025: identify the beneficial owner again using the prescribed criteria and upload the documents supporting that conclusion. This verification starts the one-year period until the next check, provided the beneficial owner does not change in the meantime. If there is a change, the period starts again. Autumn 2026 is therefore important for companies that completed the initial procedure in autumn 2025. This follows from the APR instructions.

The law does not apply to sole traders, known as preduzetnik. This is specifically explained in APR’s official answers. The first step is therefore to identify the business’s legal form, and only then draw up a list of actions.

Our practical conclusion is that company registration documents and the evidence establishing who actually controls the company should be maintained as related but separate parts of the corporate file. This is especially relevant where a Serbian DOO is owned by a foreign company. For an internal review, it helps to draw the entire ownership chain and place the supporting document beside each link.

For example, if a foreign shareholder is listed in the Serbian register, its name alone does not answer the question ‘who owns our DOO?’ The team preparing the package needs to understand which individuals are behind the structure and which documents support that conclusion. This is a practical approach to preparation, not a universal determination of a particular beneficial owner.

• The latest confirmation that information was entered or verified in the register.
• A copy of the uploaded document package and a list of the files.
• Current information on shareholders, ownership interests and structural changes.
• Details of the legal representative and current electronic access.
• Information about new passports, surname changes or other changes affecting shareholders and the director.

This is a starting checklist for a review, not a statement that every client will need all these documents. The company’s structure determines the package. A simple case involving one individual and an international group require different levels of preparation.

Step one: reconstruct the timeline. Find the date of the latest verification and distinguish it from the date the DOO was established. Do not calculate the deadline from memory or rely only on the business’s registration date.

Step two: check the facts. Compare the company’s internal documents with what has actually been entered. If the structure changed during the year, provide the specialist with the full sequence of changes, rather than just the latest contract.

Step three: check the ability to sign. Ensure that the director can log in to the relevant system and complete the procedure. For a foreign director, consistency between identifiers in registers and electronic documents matters; APR draws attention to this point.

Step four: record the result. Save confirmation of completion and set a reminder for the person responsible for the next check. A draft application, an email to a contractor and finally registered information are different stages of the work.

Do not substitute a false submission date or repeat old information merely to complete the form. A more useful approach is to establish the current state of the entry, gather the evidence for correct information and agree how to rectify it. For a complex structure, pay particular attention to consistency between documents in Russian, Serbian and other languages.

For the owner, the outcome should be clear: which obligation applies to the company, what package has been prepared, who signs the application and what confirms completion. This approach reduces reliance on scattered correspondence with contractors. Keep the final package in an archive accessible to the company, with a clear date.

On 9 June 2025, Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the first travellers to enter using the new electronic visa. At launch, the option covered citizens of 46 countries. To apply for a C visa, the applicant enters their details on the government portal and attaches a photograph and travel information; after approval, they gain access to a PDF document. The visa is checked at the border using the passport. Announcement by Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This is the system’s launch date, not a promise that every passport and every purpose of stay now follow the same process. Availability must be checked for the specific citizenship, travel document and planned trip.

According to Welcome to Serbia, the C visa is intended for short private, tourist or business visits: no more than 90 days within a 180-day period. It may allow one or several entries. The government portal specifically warns that a short-stay visa does not, on its own, establish long-term residence. Official description of the C visa.

For someone planning to relocate, hire an employee or move their family, choosing a convenient online form is the wrong starting point. First establish the purpose and basis, then choose the application. Inviting a partner for negotiations and actually working for a Serbian company, for example, call for different approaches to documentation.

The D visa covers a longer stay of 90 to 180 days; subsequent procedures depend on the basis. Employment involves a separate combination of residence and work documents. Official description of the D visa.

• Families with different citizenships. Spouses or relatives may be subject to different visa rules even if they all live permanently in the same country.
• Serbian companies. When inviting a partner, it is important to align the business purpose, dates, host and supporting documents in advance.
• Trip organisers. Several participants may need a coordinated itinerary, but each person’s documents and basis for entry must be checked separately.

We recommend first making a short trip table: who is travelling, on which passport, from where, on what dates, to visit whom and for what purpose. Note separately whether work, study or residence is planned after the visit. This helps reveal inconsistencies before the application form is completed.

Then check that names, passport numbers and dates are written consistently. The invitation, booking and application must not contain different versions of the same itinerary. If a company or relative is paying for the trip, prepare a clear explanation of that connection and the supporting evidence required for your particular application.

Scans must be fully legible: a cropped passport edge, glare, an unclear number or a file missing a required page can create extra work. Keep the final version of each document and the submission confirmation in one folder. This is practical process organisation, not an additional government requirement.

The host should also have a task list: who prepares the invitation, who confirms the address and who answers requests for clarification. If everyone is waiting for the same email from someone else, online submission will not keep the timetable on track. Appoint one coordinator and agree the sequence before submitting the application.

Buying non-refundable tickets before understanding the procedure. Online submission is convenient, but it does not make processing instantaneous. First establish a realistic timetable and an acceptable financial risk.

Treating an electronic visa as a new right to work. The document’s format and the activities it permits are separate questions. Follow the basis and conditions of the status granted.

Applying someone else’s document checklist to your family. Similar experiences may involve different citizenships, hosts and future plans. Compare the underlying circumstances as well as the visa’s name.

A Serbian residence permit confirms your residence status, but does not replace another country’s visa. Start with four details: your passport, the purpose of the trip, dates and where you will apply. You can then assess appointments, documents and the budget. Applying ‘where it is easier’ without reference to your actual itinerary is a poor starting point.

For Schengen, apply to the consulate of the main destination country; if you will spend equal time in different countries, apply to the country of first entry. Applications are normally made where you legally reside. For the USA, check the permitted interview location and current appointment rules separately before paying the fee.

For the UK and China, first check whether your citizenship and purpose of travel require a visa. Tourism, work, study and business visits may follow different procedures. Not every Russian-speaking applicant holds the same passport.

• Schengen: apply no earlier than six months before travel; normal processing is 15 calendar days, or up to 45 days if additional checks are needed.
• UK: you can apply three months in advance; the usual decision guideline is three weeks after completing the necessary application stages, confirming your identity and providing documents.
• USA: the wait for an interview depends on the location and category; administrative processing afterwards is a separate stage.
• China: the consular instructions distinguish preliminary online review from visa processing. Neither includes the time needed to prepare your file.

Your calendar should separately allow for collecting certificates, an available appointment, processing and receipt of the document. A single claim such as ‘a visa in two weeks’ does not describe this chain.

• Employment, business, income and a clear source of funds for expenses.
• Previous visas, trips and information about refusals.
• Family documents, an invitation and insurance as required by the chosen procedure.

The name, dates and purpose entered in the application must match the documents. There is no fixed bank balance suitable for every consulate and every trip: you need to explain the budget and its funding.

Basic fee guidelines are EUR 90 for an adult Schengen visa, GBP 135 for a UK Standard Visitor visa for up to six months, and USD 185 for a US B1/B2 application. Special rates, exemptions and additional payments may apply. Chinese fees must be checked by citizenship and category.

Relocation is easier when housing, income, documents and residence procedures form a single plan. Before buying tickets, establish how your family will live, the basis for applying for status and which documents are easier to obtain in advance. The steps below provide a useful starting point.

Write down what you will do in Serbia: work as an employee, run a business, study or live with family. These plans determine the immigration basis. Employment may require a single residence and work permit; registering a company does not, by itself, replace it.

Establish each family member’s route separately: who applies first, who moves with you and who needs their own right to work. Entry dates and permitted stay are checked against citizenship and current documents.

• Collect marriage certificates, children’s birth certificates and name-change documents.
• Prepare diplomas with supplements if they are needed for work, study or the chosen procedure.
• Keep evidence of income and the source of funds for a future bank application file.

Translation and legalisation requirements depend on the country of issue and where the document will be presented. Check the package first, then pay for apostilles and translations: extra certification does not make a document more useful.

Before renting long term, discuss the contract, address registration, deposit, utilities and termination with the owner. For a family, check the school journey, transport and everyday living conditions, rather than relying only on apartment photographs.

On arrival, the host must register a foreign national’s stay within 24 hours. Find out in advance who will do this and what confirmation you will receive. Address registration, a residence permit and a tenancy agreement serve different purposes.

Separate one-off and recurring expenses. One-off costs include relocation, the deposit, documents, government payments and professional support. Recurring costs include rent, utilities, food, transport and insurance, plus taxes and accounting if you run a business.

As the third year of residence approaches, the main question is the correct application date, rather than the size of your document file. Compare permits, their bases and travel history, then prepare current documents. This approach helps identify gaps early instead of leaving everything until the card expires.

Start with decisions granting and renewing temporary residence or a single permit. For each period, record the start date, end date and basis. Alongside these, record entries and exits, including travel on old passports.

• Check for gaps between permits.
• Identify periods of study: after a change of basis, half of that time counts towards the three-year period.
• For the ordinary procedure, compare travel with the absence limits: up to ten months in total or a single absence of up to six months.
• If you changed the basis, prepare the decisions confirming the sequence of statuses.

The general procedure requires three years of continuous residence under an approved temporary status. Apply while your permit is valid. For the permit during which the required three-year period is reached, the official portal describes a window starting 60 days before its expiry and ending no later than its final day of validity.

This is not a universal permission to subtract two months from any date. Your individual history must be checked first. If you have not yet completed the required period, plan the renewal of your current status in advance.

The application requires a form, passport, photograph, evidence of funds, insurance, address and basis, and payment receipts. The supporting evidence depends on the case: it differs for an employed applicant, a property owner and a family member.

• Confirm which certificates need to be current at the time of application so that you do not order them too early.
• For children, separately check family relationships, the parents’ status and the involvement of legal representatives.
• Separate support fees, translations, the government decision and card production in your budget.

An application for permanent residence is submitted in person to the competent Ministry of Interior office for the registered address. A positive decision is followed by a separate stage to issue a card with biometric data. Permanent status and the card’s validity are different things: the card is issued for five years to an adult and two years to a minor.
