Translating a diploma is not enough if you need to use it officially for work or further study. First establish the purpose of recognition: it determines the authority, documents and next step.
In this articleProfessional recognition of higher education for employment is handled by the Qualifications Agency and its ENIC/NARIC Centre. Academic recognition for further study falls within the authority of the chosen university or faculty. School documents have a separate procedure.
If the diploma is needed as part of an immigration case, first clarify exactly what outcome is required for the selected grounds. An education recognition decision is not itself a residence permit card.
Do not order a translation of the title page alone: the supplement often contains information essential to assessing the qualification. Legalisation requirements are checked according to the country and document.
Applications for professional recognition of higher education are submitted electronically; originals are presented at the stage prescribed by the procedure. The timeframe depends, among other things, on programme checks and the completeness of the documents.
Recognition of a diploma does not mean automatic admission, a shorter course or access to every regulated profession. A particular occupation may require additional professional procedures. It is better to establish this before moving, so that recognition is connected to an actual job or study plan.
RICS Consulting's perspectiveThe costliest mistake is having documents translated well for the wrong procedure. We begin with the final objective and only then agree on translations, submission and costs.
We will review your starting position, set out the steps and prepare a cost estimate. You will receive a scope of services, indicative timing and a clear next step.
