Applying for a UK visa in Serbia

A short trip to the United Kingdom requires separate preparation even if you hold Serbian residence or a Schengen visa. Standard Visitor is the route considered for tourism, visiting relatives and certain business trips.

Before completing the form, establish whether your plans are permitted under the selected category. Long-term study and employment are separate routes. Do not describe a work trip as tourism simply because a tourist application seems easier.

• A passport valid throughout the trip and details of residence in Serbia.
• Dates, itinerary and budget: flights, accommodation and daily expenses.
• A clear source of funding: your own funds or the sponsor's documents.
• Employment, business, family circumstances and travel history consistent with the form.
• Translations of documents not written in English or Welsh.

Calculate the budget for the actual itinerary. A statement showing a large balance does not by itself explain the origin of the money or your intention to return after the visit.

The Standard Visitor application is submitted online, followed by the required identity verification and document submission stage. You can apply three months before travel. The usual decision timeframe is three weeks after completing these stages, not after first contacting a consultant.

At the date of this update, the official fee for a standard visa of up to six months is 135 pounds. Visa centre services and any selected extras are charged separately. Each family member has their own application and fee.
